STARK at Make Music New York and Indiegrrl Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NEW YORK CITY (June 4, 2009) – STARK will play Make Music New York for the 3rd year in a row. This year, the whole band will be featured on the Punk Island stage at Governor’s Island at 1pm during a day of free music throughout the whole city June 21st, 2009. On June 14th, Lani Ford will play solo acoustic in Union Square for Musequality’s World Busk with the “aim of setting a world record for the world’s biggest busk to raise money to help some of the most disadvantaged children in the developing world turn their lives around.” STARK has been selected to showcase at the Indiegrrl Conference in Nashville, TN, August 20-23, 2009. Lani Ford will represent the band with solo acoustic performances on the Women's Radio, Nette Radio and Indiegrrl stages. The band has also been selected to play the Good Times Long Island Music Festival June 24-28th and as a standby artist for the 2nd year for Toronto’s huge NXNE festival June 17-21st. STARK will play the Girls Rock and Girls Rule Showcase at Hank's Saloon in Brooklyn, New York July 16, 2009. On May 13, 2008, Lani Ford had her 15 minutes of fame (or shame) on Arizzma Radio's RewBee's World also on You Tube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dv3Cg7t9Uo. Lani Ford is also a featured Triple R Girl for June on www.rockandrollreport.com. On December 19, 2008, STARK taped an episode of The Rhythms of New York – “the television series that examines the unique musical scene that helps make NYC the Media Capital of the world.” The episode is still being aired and has been added to their “best of” reel. The exact airdates will be announced on the website www.rhythmsofny.com". STARK performed three songs: “Oh-No”, “On The Edge” and “Co-Dependent”. Additionally, interviews were conducted with Lani, Joe and Eric. STARK recently released a music video for the song “OH NO!” directed by Joe Covino of East Village Studios and shot in Coney Island, New York and at Arlene’s Grocery in NYC. The video has been accepted into the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival as well as the Royal Flush Film Festival, both in New York in October 2009. STARK’s latest CD Put It To Your Head has been receiving great press and radio all over the world, especially in the U.S., the UK, Germany, Belgium and Australia since it’s release in January 2008.
